  • Prevention Specialist

    Prevention Specialist Wes is a certified Community Health Worker, Instructor, Race Equity Facilitator, and has received training in project management He has a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications—Public Relations, with minors in Journalism and Industrial Psychology—Human Resource Development. In this role, Wes helps individuals access PrEP and nPEP, offers free HIV and hepatitis C tests, promotes harm reduction services, and facilitates workshops to address stigma about sex and race. Wes also co-hosts a talk show called Unboxed, an initiative to elevate the narratives of others through candid, stigma-reducing conversations.

The Prevention Specialists at KC CARE Health Center are certified HIV/STI Testing Counselors in Missouri, trained STI testers, and workshop facilitators. You can count on us to develop programming to meet the needs of the community you represent.
